The 30th anniversary of the Open 13 Provence will be remembered for Hubert Hurkacz?s sixth title in his career. For the first time, he adds his name to the Marseilles prize list and succeeds Andrey Rublev, winner in 2022.
In a sold-out stadium, the Pole won in two sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6(4).
Hubi took little time before taking the lead in the first set by breaking in the third game. He won the first set, losing only one point on his first serve (12 points won out of 13).
In the second set, with the crowd on fire, Benjamin Bonzi did not give up and won three set points at 6-5 on his opponent's serve. But the best server of the week came up against him and he erased them with aces (19 today).
In the tie-break, Hubert took off and won the first French title of his career.
Well done to him!
