Everyone was waiting for them? The four headliners of the 30th anniversary of the Open 13 Provence tournament are out this Thursday!
Hubert Hurkacz, the number one seed of the tournament, after the last minute withdrawal of Holger Rune, will make his debut in the tournament against Léandro Riedi. The Pole, who reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open last month, will be one of the favourites for this 31st edition of the Open 13 Provence. Standing at a height of 96 metres, Hubert Hurkacz, with his powerful serve, is likely to do some damage in the indoor arena this week.
In the same section of the draw, Grigor Dimitrov will also make an appearance and will face Gijs Brouwer in their first meeting. The Bulgarian, who had an excellent tournament last week in Rotterdam after knocking out Aslan Karatsev, Hubert Hurkacz and Alex de Minaur, will be looking to build on his good momentum from the start of the season. With a forward game that allows him to shorten exchanges, will Grigor have a card to play this week in Marseille? Answer this Thursday 23 February!
In the lower part of the draw and for his first time at the Open 13 Provence, Alex de Minaur will play the leading roles. The Australian will take on the surprisingly qualified Alexander Ritschard for a place in the quarter-finals. Nicknamed "The Demon", this fighter is looking to bounce back after a painful defeat in the Netherlands a few days ago.
The man in form these last few weeks is Italian. Winner in Montpellier against Maxime Cressy and finalist in Rotterdam against Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner is highly anticipated at the Open 13 Provence. With his sumptuous two-handed backhand, Jannik is capable of accelerating every situation and putting his opponent in difficulty. This is what he will try to do this Thursday against the young talent, Arthur Fils.
