A tricolour Tuesday!

This Tuesday promises to be a blue, white and red day! On centre court, Grégoire Barrère will open against Marc-Andrea Huesler for their first confrontation. The current 58th player in the world (best ranking in his career) is hoping to build on his excellent momentum of recent months. After a title in Quimper (ATP Challenger) and a round of 16 in Rotterdam last week, the third-ranked French player will try to do better than his last appearances here (second round in 2019). In the match of the day, Richard Gasquet, a semi-finalist here in 2014 and 2017, will face qualifier Laurent Lokoli. This is a match to be followed closely as we know the record of the former world number seven and the atypical career of the Corsican. Originally from Béziers, Richard feels at home in Marseille and comes with the intention of going as far as possible. But Laurent is coming off two very solid matches in the qualifiers and a great 2022 season, and he intends to beat the odds. In the final round, Arthur Rinderknech, quarter-finalist in 2021, will face Leandro Riedi of Switzerland. After studying in the United States for four years in Texas from the age of 18 onwards, the Frenchman managed to find his place on the ATP circuit and has been climbing the ladder little by little. Today he is ranked 72nd in the world and confirms: "The tournament in Marseille is a special tournament for me and I intend to give it my best shot. In the doubles, Arthur Fils and Luca Van Assche are paired with Jonathan Eysseric and Denys Molchanov. The tricolors, who know each other quite well, will do everything to shine together! Note that the number six seed of the tournament, David Goffin, will make his debut against Lukas Klein.
