The Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, ranked 9th in the world, qualified for the semi-finals of the Open 13 Provence 2022, after beating the Belarusian Ilya Ivashka 6-3 6-4 in 1 hour and 35 minutes. A well-deserved victory for the recent winner of the Rotterdam tournament, as he dominated the proceedings. Apart from a break in the first game of the match, the audience at the Palais des Sports was treated to the Felix Show. Service, forehand, backhand, volley, defence: everything was there to despair the Belarusian, who had reached the semi-finals in Marseille in 2018.
Felix Auger-Aliassime, who was a finalist in 2020 and is on a seven-match winning streak, will try to make it eight on Saturday in the semifinals against Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin, ranked 163rd in the world.
