Lucas Pouille won his first main tour match of 2022, beating the tournament's No. 6 seed, Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands, in three sets 7-5 3-6 6-1 (2:17).
It could have gone badly. In the first set, the Frenchman was one break behind and trailed 5-3. It was during this interminable game that Lucas managed to regain the upper hand, breaking at the end of the 6th opportunity. He then went on to win the first set 7-5 with three consecutive games. The effort made by Lucas Pouille to take the lead in the first set was probably the reason why he lost his serve in the second game of the second set.
