An all-blue junior boys' singles final at a Grand Slam has not been seen since 2004. That year, Gaël Monfils won the Australian Open final against Josselin Ouanna. Sixteen years later, still in Melbourne, Harold Mayot and Arthur Cazaux were facing each other to try to win their first junior Grand Slam title. It was Harold Mayot who finally lifted the trophy, thanks to his 6/4 6/1 victory, which also enabled him to become world number one in the junior rankings.
Following their Australian adventure, the two young tricolors will also be present in Marseille for the 28th edition of the Open 13 Provence. Indeed, Mayot and Cazaux have been awarded a wild card for the qualifying draw. A perfect opportunity to discover these two great hopes of French tennis up close. The good news is that entry to the Palais des Sports in Marseille will be free on Sunday 16 February, for the first day of the qualifying rounds.
