Nicolas Mahut and Vasek Pospisil won the doubles final, defeating the top seeded pair Koolhof / Metkic in two sets 6/3 6/4.
A week after his victory in Rotterdam with his sidekick Pierre-Hugues Herbert, Nicolas Mahut did it again, this time alongside Canadian Pospisil. This is the Frenchman's thirtieth doubles title. Mahut and Pospisil had already won a title together, in Rotterdam in 2016.
This is the first time Pospisil has played in Marseille, but Mahut has already won a doubles title at the Provençal tournament. Nico had already won in 2012 with Edouard Roger-Vasselin and in 2017 with Julien Benneteau.
"An extraordinary week
After congratulating their opponents in English, Vasek Pospisil thanked his partner this week. " Thanks to Nico, it's an incredible pleasure for me to play with him, the best doubles player in the world. "
For his part, Nicolas Mahut was delighted to have been able to win a third time at the Open 13 Provence: " I have a lot of affection for this tournament. It was the first professional tournament I played in 20 years ago. It was a special week, with my coach Nico (Renavand) and my son who was my assistant coach! He gave me a lot of advice, good advice! He too will have great memories, it's really extraordinary. "
